Already. One year.
At one year, Ingrid:
- still needs, and takes, two naps a day (usually).
-
still nurses more than she probably should at this age but I'm not going to fight her on it. It will change, eventually.
-
is not the best eater unless it's something she likes. Then she will eat barrels of it. "It" changes a lot.
-
wears 18 - 24 month clothes. Not sure what her weight and height is but we'll find out at her next doctor appointment in July.
-
is a super fast crawler.
-
loves to stand. She stands all the time and even without holding on to anything.
-
cruises around a bit.
-
has never taken to the pacifier. The last time I can recall trying to get her to use one was on the plane when I came home by myself in October and she was four months old. Which is fine by me since I believe they are little more than plugs.
-
no longer likes to sit in her highchair. She was never a fan but now she flat out refuses to sit in it. I feed her while sitting on the floor next to her. She takes a bit and crawls away to play and then crawls back to me when she wants more food.
-
is a giggly, squealing fun loving girl.
-
is less and less of a baby and more of a little girl every day.
-
loves dogs. When one passes by outside she flips out and gets the goofiest smile ever.
-
also loves to point out birds and airplanes with much excitement.
-
says "wet" when she sees the hose, points at birds and lights and cars and...
-
will point at the counter where we keep the bananas when I ask her if she wants a banana.
-
would eat goldfish and blueberries all day long if I let her.
-
loves bananas, too. And watermelon. She has redeemed herself!
- has been a part of our lives for one year but it feels like forever and not long at all at the same time.
- is still the greatest thing I have ever done.
