Ingrid doesn't watch a lot of television. She generally sticks with what she knows best - Barney. She is otherwise unfamiliar with Sesame Street but does know some of the characters thanks to some of her teddy bears, story books and colouring books. I have nothing against the Street and am not trying to keep her from watching it. It's just that I can never seem to find what time it's on.
A while ago Derek noticed that Sesame Street was coming to Ottawa and thought Ingrid would enjoy it regardless of the fact that she doesn't really know much about it. Today was the big day.
She seemed interested at first and sat quietly in Derek's arms.
Then again, who wouldn't be transfixed by these colourful fellows?
After about thirty minutes she started to get a little whiny and wanted to go home. We managed to get the rest of the show out of her but about ten minutes before the end I looked over at her only to find her sound asleep. She must have been awfully tired because the noise level was borderline obnoxious. She even slept through the very loud fireworks at the end.
Unfortunately we had to wake her up when it was time to leave but Derek bought her $15 (!!!) Elmo wand thingy and she was okay. Honestly she was fine without it and didn't even ask for it. Derek enjoys spoiling her.
Those Elmo ballooms were also $15 each. I'm pretty sure I saw the same thing at Dollarama for $2. Fortunately, Ingrid is not yet at the age where she must have everything she sees. Yet.
