shameful shameful

One day back in June I was determined to paint the hallway. I was tired of the dark green the previous owners had chosen so I decided it was time to change it. I taped everything just so, taking special care not to overlap. I was being so meticulous, covering every last millimeter of exposed trim that I ran out of tape and had to go out to get some more. The store was only about 10 minutes away and it didn't take me very long to get there and back but when I got back there was a police car in the driveway and a police woman up at the door. She told me that the alarm had gone off and that there was trouble with the garage door. In my haste to get the tape I took off, set the alarm and left the garage door entrance from the hall ajar and it set off the alarm. So my $4 roll of tape ended up costing me $75 in the end. Anyhow, the whole point was to tell you that today, five months later, the hall still looks like this. It's our trendy new decor!
