Couldn't have been a smooth ride

I was pleasantly surprised to see this at the Technik Museum in Speyer. The museum was full of old trains, cars and planes. Mixed in amongst the old cars and the world's fastest (and weirdest looking) motorcycle was one of the first bicycles ever invented. It had springs where we now have rubber tires. Can you imagine what it might feel like to ride a bike like this?
